• Primary
Magnesium 99,8% min. in ingots
• Primary
Magnesium 99,8% min. in T bars
The primary magnesium has many uses in metallurgy and in industrial
processes. The main ones are:
Alloy formation with: Aluminum, Copper, Nickel, etc.
Desulphurization of steel
Chemical uses in Reactions of Grignard for various production purposes
(from the separation of metallic compounds to the synthesis of vitamins)
Pyrotechnics uses
Photography and Press uses etc.
• Magnesium
alloys for high pressure die casting
High pressure die casting is an area where there is a tremendous
potential for magnesium alloys growth, particularly related
to automotive applications associated with the requirements
for lighter weight, improved performance and increased safety.
Here are the principal alloys we have:
AZ91-D
The most commonly used magnesium based die casting alloy is
AZ91D. The alloy is commonly used for housings and covers,
brackets,
chain saw parts, handhold tools and computer parts.
AM60B • AM50A
These alloys reveal a good combination of strength, ductility,
energy absorption properties and castability. Alloys are generally
considered for applications which require ductile failure modes
such as steering wheels, seat frames, instrumental panels,
brackets
etc.
AZ63 HP and the other alloys for cathodic protection
It is used for sacrificial anodes, traditionally cast and put in waterheaters
and water tanks. The alloy is also used for anodes that protect pipelines, gas
lines and underground metal structures from corrosion.
MRI alloys
Those are the alloys for the car of the future, please see
the technical sheet and ask us trials for your most critical
applications.
